Ain't It Spooky, Grissom? The opening teaser. It was a dark, moonless night in the forest. The only sound could be heard was the wind blowing the fallen leaves. A flashlight lightened through the darkness --- I can really use some Mark Snow music now. A man appeared behind the flashlight. No. This is not Mulder --- It's Grissom, scanning through the DB's in the body farm. Why was he alone? Where were the other graveyard shift? Where was your Scully, Grissom? Okay, that was OT. Yet, noted that the director of this episode is Kenneth Flink, who is a 1013 (i.e: The X-files and stuffs) veteran, so we should not be surprised when we saw some familiar smoky scenes around. Now. Shift to our victim of the week. The scene was cross-contaminated because of a carpet appearing at the wrong time of decomposition. Honestly, I have no idea how that beetle actually related to the later plot line, but thanks for the little tip and the gruesome SFX. Ain't No Writing If It's Not Shippy Burden of Proof is one of those "all team on the case" episodes, had less buzz than "ID Crisis" or "The Finger", but, from the all the responding from forums and Yahoo!Clubs, BoF is a darling. Why? Because it is shippy. Face it. We all love DNA, image enhancing, burn marks and beetles, but if we ONLY want to see them, Discovery Channel's New Detectives and The FBI Files will be good enough for us, and we won't need to see inaccurate portraits of criminalists' works on CSI. There are many reasons I was hooked on the show --- 1) I Don't Have Discovery Channel @ home, 2) William Petersen resembles a dear friend of mine down to the beautiful eyes and chubby shape (no, not you..), 3) I like Sara, and she is like a ME with a much bigger ego (not to mention we both have, frizzy dark hair and gap in the teeth), 4) George and Gary are one of the most sexy men on TV these days. 5) I am a woman, but I am moved by Marg, too. We want to see the ship going in Las Vegas's desert. So, thank you William Petersen and Anthony Zuilker for claiming that CSI will always be about science. Everybody. They are fooling us. Remember what they promised for TXF during season 4? Right. No sex for The X-files? Wake up. Mulder and Scully even have a baby together. Thus, no Catherine/Grissom romance? My A**. How about Sara/Grissom romance? This may be a smoke screen. The more the audience want to see some Helgenberger/Petersen actions, the harder the network denies it, and pulls the Sara/Grissom relationship. This way, the series have a controversial and unresolved on-screen affair (some people are offended by plots regarding large age differences and student-teacher relationships. Really.), and when they really want to use the Cat/Gil plate, they will have an already-made triangle meal, and all they need to do is microwave. She likes Vegetation The moment I am writing this little section, I already moved on to the next, even shippier episode. I realized that BoP was a pivotal episode to the following story plots, and the way they took the drastic measure to have relationship issues on the show despite the efforts they have been trying to deny. Rumors had it that the actors were hinted too, somehow. The repeating of season one episodes such as Cool Change may not be simply the effect of fan requesting emails to CBS last December during the Cool Change companion. A series of Sara/Grissom shippy episodes such as Cool Change, Unfriendly Sky, Sex, Lies and Larvae had been on air recently. It could be obvious that CSI slowly( or not) revealed the Sara/Grissom relationship that had been embedded in Sara's first appearance. For the sake of excitement, I would recap my reaction with Grissom's final scene when he realized he had the power to express his appreciation to Sara for her work.
